Trees!

I've mainly focused my drawing on people and never really attempted
to draw trees at all. So here's some of my recent efforts. I soon realised
adding the third dimension in there somehow was vital to a successful
and believable tree, but I also found it most challenging. I thought
drawing the branches, twigs and leaves was a bit overly tedious. Is there
a secret to it? I'd really appreciated any tips or advice from friends out
there that have experience with trees in particular!

Old guy on a wobbly train

I would highly recommend sketching on the train from
London to Cambridge if you want to free up your drawing!
Here is a quick doodle whilst doing exactly that.

AIB Jumble posts

Closing Time at the Zoology Museum

Quick sketches of animals that caught my eye as the museum was closing.
Sadly I arrived a little late so I plan to go back for more another day.

Life Drawing

Some life drawing at a class in Kings College!
Here are some recent bits. Its been a while!

Old man

A blocking pass for a short character test that I'm currently attempting using the Blik rig. The long term idea is to use the same rig to act out various other ages and emotions. I just wanted to share this to get some feedback before I go to far.

The rig below is called Morpheus and the one I originally started the test with. Unfortunately I had to drop it in favor of Blik due to my 8 year old laptop being a little to feeble to handle him. However I may still try some shorter dialogue or acting shots with him after getting more familiar with Maya again.

Posted for the topic INSECTS

As usual blogger has washed out my pic.
I didn't intend it to look this way but this will have to do for now.

The Illusionist revealed

You can watch the Berlin Festival Interview
with film footage and see some more
high quality stills HERE.

Four years in the making and delayed several
times, The Illusionist will finally distribute to
cinemas later this year.

The crowd in this still happens to be the earliest
piece I animated for the film.

Many other AIB alumni helped to make this
film, from the animatic, backgrounds,
animation, clean up, ink and paint.

Be sure to catch this film
when its out!!! and buy the dvd!
